Hack the hospital
What happens if your hospital gets hacked? See it. Stop it. Secure your patients.
Hospitals run 24/7. So do attackers. With Hack the Hospital, we show what happens when critical care systems get compromised, and how Zero Trust keeps them running.
Hack the Hospital is a live cybersecurity demonstration by ON2IT that exposes weaknesses in healthcare operational technology. Using real hospital OT systems. HVAC, water treatment, building management, it shows how a single breach can shut down patient care, and how Zero Trust keeps hospitals running.
The day the hospital went dark
The surgeon says “scalpel.”
The lights go out.
Heart monitor freezes.
Not because of a power outage.
Because of a hack.
Hospitals run 24/7. So do attackers. Hack the Hospital shows what happens when critical care systems get compromised, and how to make sure your hospital isn’t next.
And a compliance trail
Three voices from the same incident. Different roles, one shared problem: when hospital OT fails, patient care fails with it.
Three sides of the same attack
Actual hospital OT, live
The demo runs on real hospital OT infrastructure. HVAC controllers, water treatment interfaces, and building management systems, the same architecture ON2IT deploys in live healthcare environments.
See what breaks, first hand
Participants get to observe or execute the attacks themselves, from initial VPN foothold to lateral movement into life-critical OT systems. Nothing is hidden behind slides.
Attack and defend, side by side
The environment supports RED versus BLUE exercises where clinical, IT and OT teams can experience both sides of an attack on hospital infrastructure, and rehearse the coordinated response.
Two attacks. Both real.
Every Hack the Hospital demo walks through concrete attack chains, executed live against real hospital OT systems.
HVAC system breach
Water system compromise
We don’t pretend to protect hospitals. We actually do.
Hack the Hospital isn’t theory. It’s powered by the same architecture we deploy in live healthcare environments.
See how prevention becomes protection.

Proven response workflows. The playbooks we walk through are trusted by global healthcare providers.
Questions & answers
Everything to know before booking a Hack the Hospital session for your team, a conference, or a healthcare event.
What is Hack the Hospital?
Hack the Hospital is a live cybersecurity demonstration by ON2IT that exposes weaknesses in healthcare operational technology (OT) environments. Using real hospital OT systems like HVAC, water treatment and building management, it shows how a single breach can shut down patient care and how Zero Trust keeps hospitals running.
Is this a real hospital or a simulation?
The demonstration uses real hospital OT systems and real attack data. It’s powered by the same architecture ON2IT deploys in live healthcare environments, so what participants see is grounded in what actually happens in operational hospitals.
What OT systems are demonstrated in the scenarios?
Two headline scenarios are featured. The first is an HVAC System Breach, where the HVAC controller is compromised through a shared maintenance VPN, causing temperature and air pressure anomalies that disrupt critical environments. The second is a Water System Compromise, where attackers exploit the building management interface controlling water pressure and disinfection, creating contamination risk and halting sterilization cycles.
Who is behind Hack the Hospital?
Hack the Hospital is built and operated by ON2IT. It uses real hospital OT systems, real attack data, and the proven response workflows trusted by global healthcare providers.
Can we book Hack the Hospital for our organization?
Yes. The demo is available for private bookings and healthcare events. It works well for Red versus Blue team exercises where clinical, IT and OT teams can experience both sides of an attack on hospital infrastructure. Contact ON2IT to request a demo for your team.
